Three weeks young

Highlights of week three? Grandma Betty was still in town. I went to Milford Memories - twice. Uncle Paul came to visit. Mom finally picked the zucchini. Dad and I mowed the lawn and tested out cousin Molly's hotsling. And the craziest thing? The tree right outside our kitchen window was struck by lightning! Oh. And I slept.

Like I said, Grandma Betty was still in town. She did some weeding for Mom, held me a lot, went to Milford Memories with me and was basically my number one fan. Mom cried when she left. Even more than me when I'm hungry!

Mom and Dad were excited to show me off at Milford Memories. My little legs hanging out of the thing on Dad's chest drew a lot of attention. They heard a lot of "Oh, she's so little!" and "She's wonderful." But one lady told Mom she was crazy for exposing me to all the germs. Pffffft. I'm building antibodies, lady! (We boycotted her booth.)

On Saturday, August 13, Uncle Paul came by. It was so good to see him again that I promptly fell asleep. We took him back down to Milford Memories to see the Cold Butt Euchre tournament. Someday that will be my butt on a block of ice!

Saturday was also the day our tree was struck by lightning. It was so scary! Mom and Grandma were talking about how there was a lot of thunder but no lightning. Then BAM! Bark was flying all over the yard and the air smelled funny. We all hope we can save part of it - Mom called an arborist for an opinion. No details yet.

This week Mom finally picked the zucchini. Dad likes to make stuffed zucchini boats and kept telling her that he wanted them as big as possible. For once, she listened. Check these things out!

Dad and I also did some mowing and slinging. And a titch of resting.

My brother Owen was not tickled by my balloon. He destroyed it. My first lesson in sharing.

  And then, I slept.
