Yesterday was my 32 week appointment. Baby 2 is growing great, moving heaps and is in perfect birth position. Will and Maizey, the latter still in pajamas, met me at the appointment and joined me in the ultrasound room, singing a Will-generated tune... "Mama's at the midwife, Mama's at the midwife..."
Maizey's arms reached for me as I lay on the examining table. "I love you, Mama" she whispered as she snuggled into the crook of my arm. I melted.
And then, on the way home, knowing Baby 2 was okay, my anxieties about Baby 1 - little Mary Elizabeth - came knocking...
This blog post captures it well (save for the author's childhood), so I thought I'd share.
