Ten + One

Unable to find the baby's heartbeat via the Doppler listening device, my doc opted to do another ultrasound. Reason for the difficulty - too much fetal movement. The little thing was flailing its arms, kicking its legs, twisting and shouting. Well, probably not shouting. But, I felt like shouting. For the first time the baby thing felt really real.

Although I feel like a playground kickball with ever-increasing ham hock gams, I don't really look much different. And sadly, if I do look different, the oh-so-obsessive baby websites report: "The thickening in your midsection is most likely due to slight weight gain and bloating." Awesome.

We had ultrasound #2 yesterday. Everything looks, well, extraterrestrial.

On a side note, I hope you all appreciate my willingness to share images of my internal organs. I'll gladly accept and post submissions from others. I'd love to feel like less of an exhibitionist and more a part of a community.
