Library, oh library

As we cough, sneeze and nose-blow through our fourth month in Ann Arbor, I thought it would be good to pause and reflect on some of the good this city sojourn has brought. 

For one, there is always something to do. Today's spot? Libraries. Within a 8 minute drive of our house there are four libraries. One, a ten minute walk away. Each has a decent children's section and three of the four offer stellar story hours. In addition, many host weekend events, allowing Will to join us in experiencing Ann Arbor crazy. ("Six square miles surrounded by reality.") Three weekends ago we participated in a library drum circle. Last weekend, a 50-family sing-along. And two weekends ago, family yoga.

Looks fun? Right?

Happy Halloween!

Given that today's weather (100% chance of rain, from 6 a.m.-10 p.m.) is likely to dampen tonight's trick-or-treat action, I'm thrilled that the girls and I got to have a little pre-Halloween fun yesterday.

After the impromptu costume photo shoot, we scooted off to the Milford Library Halloween celebration. Though the gets were a lil lame (bookmarks and animal crackers), the costumes and crafts were enjoyed by all.  

(It's written all over Maizey's face, no?)

Jack was there. Reprise costume of 2012...

Then, insisted on getting her photo taken with the Madagascar cast.

Escanaba Library

A visit to Escanaba isn't complete without stopping by to say "Hiya" to the Public Library and children's librarian Pat Fittante. This is the same woman who ran a mean storytime when I was a youth... Truly amazing. (And sadly, camera shy.)
