After two illness cancellations, Miss Maizey and I finally had our "first haircut" outing. Now I would not describe myself as a sentimental mama, but there was something about this premiere snip that gave me a tight chest/itchy throat feeling. (Will probably thanks goodness she's a girl - as if she'd been a boy, he'd likely sport locks resembling Kate Hudson's child.)
What: Baby's First Haircut
When: Monday, January 27
Where: Zoey & Joey (Ann Arbor), in a Mini Cooper
Prior to taking her place in the chair, she was a tad nervous,
Her nerves were quickly calmed though
by the sweet stylist,
car chair,
and personal television.
Screening The Tigger Movie.
Of course I was there to distract her.
And snap snaps
of snip-snips.
So grown up...
Though the television did at times prove a bit distracting...
As did the Mini Cooper.
But, she was good through the blow-dry.
Annnnnd.
Done.
She was entranced by her swept up hair.
I couldn't watch. Remember that chest tightening? Yeah.
I couldn't watch. Remember that chest tightening? Yeah.
Even scored a special certificate and hair lock.
Thanks Ashley.
Follow-up treat? Frozen - with movie popcorn and "spicy" (carbonated) soda.
Which contained a good message for me, "Let it go!" Hair and all.
