Welcome Leah

Remember our visit to see soon-to-be-big-sister Ruby? And Mama Maria? Well, we're happy to report that little sis' Leah Geraldine made her entrance into the world on September 20 at 9:15 a.m. Mom just got done reading Maria and Leah's birth story - holy cow! She says I can't hear it. Nightmares... But I can't wait to gossip about the little one with Ruby.
Ahhhh - newborns. I remember when I was one.

Last weekend

Last Saturday was busy busy. So busy that I slept ALL day on Sunday. Mom was sad I chose to tank up on my snoozing when Dad was around to help. But I think it was nice of me. They got to hang out without passing the baby.

In the morning, we went for a walk. Then, drove to Buffalo Wild Wings in Howell to watch football with Auntie Kerri.

She's the one who bought me my snappy green and white shirt, which I paired with my new cargo jeggings. Sassy, right?

So sassy that I had suitors lining up! Like this little guy. I didn't catch his name but yep - he loved me.

Then, at night we went to Grandpa and Grandma Spurgeon's house in Royal Oak. We were celebrating Grandma Katie's birthday. Everyone was there.

Grandma Katie.

Grandpa Bill and Aunt Jane.

Uncle Joe - who bought me my UM hoodie.

And cousin Nikki, who put me to sleep like a champ.

Two months

Today is my two month birthday! Mom can't believe it's already been two months, but at the same time can barely remember life without me around. She also can't get over how much I've grown. What can I say? I'm enlarging. Like daughter like mother...

Pink Pattie

Last Tuesday, Auntie Pattie brought Mom lunch and me two totally snappy new Kicky Pants outfits. They are so soft! Thank you!

It was the first time I met Miss Pattie, but Mom talks about her a lot. She's one of the nicest people Mom knows. She met Pattie when she leased Stella, the prettiest horse ever. And before I was born, Pattie hired a carriage to transport Mom and Dad to dinner. She's the best.

And, Auntie Pattie is really brave. Four weeks ago she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She's fighting with all she's got and we're cheering for her. Mom, Dad and I are three of her many "Warriors in Pink." Mom even put a Warrior sticker from Pattie on her car - something she hasn't done since the Peace Frog graced the Prizm in 1996.

We love you, Auntie Pattie!

Adventures in Esky - Pt. 6 - Everything else

What else did I do in Escanaba? What didn't I do, you mean.

We ate dinners. (Or rather, they ate dinners. I ate every two hours.)

I hung with Grandma in the Moby.

We had a picnic at the beach. (Mom used to work there.)

Uncle Pete and Mom weighed me on the postal scale.

I helped Mom compute.

And read books with Gram.

It was marvelous. And exhausting. So I went home, hung with Dad . . .

And slept.

Ahhhhh... "This is the life."

Adventures in Esky - Pt. 5 - Hangin' with Gramps

Like I said yesterday, I hung out with Grandpa a lot.

He held me.

And helped me sleep.

And we hammocked together. (Grandma said he does this a lot.)

And he even read me the Wall Street Journal during lunch. (Without Mom's permission. She's a New York Times kind of gal.)

It was great. He tries to act tough, but he's just a big teddy bear.

Adventures in Esky - Pt. 4 - The Wedding

I went to my first wedding ceremony in Escanaba. We got all dressed up.

And watched Jamie and Rich recite their vows. Congrats to a great couple!

I hung with Grandpa during most of it. Actually, I hung out with Grandpa a lot when I was in Escanaba.
More on that tomorrow.

Adventures in Esky - Pt. 3 - Grandma Photo Shoots

When I was in Escanaba, Grandma couldn't get enough of me. She took a lot of pics. I felt like a model.

First, on the deck. Check out my Picasso . . .

And on her bed . . .

On Mom's bed . . .

On the deck, where we ate dinner . . .

In Mom's old doll crib (where I hung out when they were eating) . . .

On Grandpa's chair (I'm trying to make the face he makes when Mom asks for money) . . .

And in the sink, during one of my many baths . . .

Like I said, I felt like a model.

Adventures in Esky - Pt. 2 - Taking out the dock

On Wednesday, Gram and Gramps took me out to Marlene's to help take out the dock. Mom stayed back at 1129 and worked on sending my announcements.

I got to hang out with Great Aunt Carol while they did the heavy lifting. She's a Grandma too - so knew just what I needed.

When Marlene was done driving the tractor, she took a turn giving me cuddles.

And I got my diaper changed on the bed. It was great.

This was the last day I got to wear my NB sized elephant jammies. Not to worry though, Aunt Barbara got me a size 6 months. You'll see them again!
